Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Dark, sexy, moody atmosphere in the downstairs dining room. Very dimly lit and intimate, although it was so dark we had to use our phone flashlight to read the menu. Our waiter was excellent throughout the evening: patient, cordial, informative, and helpful with suggestions. Tuna Tartare: Creamy avocado provided a nice contrast to the tuna, while the rice pearls added texture. The chili oil wasn’t particularly spicy, but overall a solid dish. Spicy Baked Scallop & Crab: Excellent dish, UNFORTUNATELY accompanied by a very unpleasant experience. After taking a bite, I felt something stringy in my mouth and pulled out a very long hair. Even after alerting our waiter, I was still pulling hair out of my mouth. The dish was remade, and our waiter handled it politely, but the restaurant’s response was nonexistent. Wagyu Bavette: Another standout. The rare/medium-rare steak with Japanese sweet potato and miso butter was fantastic. Black Cod Fried Rice: My least favorite. Very mild and not particularly memorable. Toro + Soy + Caviar Nigiri: A classic combination. Fatty, buttery toro paired beautifully with the salty, creamy caviar. The nigiri are on the petite side. Overall, great at

Double Knot was exceptionally good, staff was friendly and helpful! The manager was even checking in on tables to make sure everything was good. I recommend the Butterfly Knot cocktail, it was light and tasty. The sushi was fantastic and so was the tuna tartare. We ordered from the tasting menu, which was a little pricey but came with a lot of food! Great date night spot or for any special occasion. The downstairs area is cool but a little dark, be ready for that if you have trouble reading in the dark.

I tried the chef’s tasting menu for two in the downstairs dining area. First, I want to say the ambiance was very intimate, although it was sometimes a little too dark to read the menu easily. I told the waitress I wanted the edamame dumplings and asked for the rest of the chef’s tasting selection to focus on salmon dishes. The food came out hot and at a good pace. Some dishes were great, while others were just okay. Overall, I still enjoyed my first-time experience.

nice place for small bites. the scallion ribeye skewer was amazing, very tender but flavorful. he wagyu soup dumplings were also good. didn’t really have much soup inside them but were tasty anyways. the tuna crackers are a thick wad of crispy rice. while it is very crispy it was too thick for my preference, and the fish itself wasn’t that good

Our friends love this spot and got a reservation while we were in town. We did the chef tasting menu. If you think that it won’t be enough food, it will be! We didn’t even eat much of the fried rice. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. One in our party has a shellfish allergy and ensured our choices would be safe and the chef prepared without contamination. Also the bathrooms were all black which was fun.
